Even when Scorsese is wrong, he's right. He has my permission to remake whatever he chooses. :)
In other news, I thought SUKIYAKI WESTERN DJANGO was such a monumental disappointment. I can only watch it with the Japanese dub audio track; then I can appreciate the aesthetic beauty. The mangled English being spit out was not only a distraction, but also unnecessary, because if Miike was truly going for "that old time religion" he should have had a genuine English dubbing session with actors who could speak the language properly. And I thought the surreal pop intro w/ Tarantino was a complete waste of time.
When Miike is good, he is very very good. But when he's bad he is horrid.

Oh man - after GoodFellas it's all been overkill, and I'm not making a pun.
On the other hand, I'm all for Miikie's "Sukiyaki Django," which I have yet to see.
