Susannah York



On the set of Freud, John Huston’s 1962 film biography of the psychoanalyst (in which she played a hopeless neurotic), she was so outraged when Huston sarcastically suggested that Montgomery Clift should get a guide dog (after the actor confessed that his eyesight was failing) that she punched him.

    I absolutely loved her in "They Shoot Horses, Don't They?" Such an understated classic.

    I haven't seen Tom Jones since I was in junior high (I was that kind of kid). I have to see that again.

    I will miss her peppermint patties. I felt like I was schussing down a slope of mint ice cream moguls on the surface of a frozen planet.
