Gimme that Old Time Religion

Anthony Perkins as Rev. Peter Shayne-style

with lines like "You wear your anger like a breakaway chastity belt."
-- I knew we had an instant classic in 1984's CRIMES OF PASSION.

  1. Those poor performers--that is some crappy, impossible-to-act dialogue!

Tony Perkins was so hot, in a fucked-up way.

  2. Wretchedly hilarious film. "I'm fit as a fiddle and ready for cock" Why if I had a dollar for every time I said that..
...And back to a previous post and talk of creepy coincidences....
Donna Lethal mentioned dating a Franco actor today which reminded me of a girl I dated all through high school who went on to be an actress but only had bit parts in two films: A millisecond locker room flash in the awful Travolta-Jamie Lee Curtis film "Perfect" and..you guessed it playing a hooker in "Crimes Of Passion"!!!! And then this gets posted..now that's scary. Her name was Lisa Hayslip and she's the hooker that approaches Perkins early on in the film as he is spying on Turner and hiding in a doorway. She delivers some cornball line like "Wanna get to heaven early?" then moves on. Sorry, the synchronicity kinda spooked me!
PS-Talk about a girl that was fit as a fiddle and....lol.

  5. I think this should be made into a Broadway musical! "Wicked"'s Chenowith as China Blue...or not.
This one, or "Lair of the White Worm"!

    Cheyenne Jackson as Bobby
and Joel Grey as the Reverend

didn't you feel like Ken Russell was digging up old bones when just a few years later he put his wife Teresa Russell in the film WHORE. Been there - done that.
