The Killer Inside Me

Damn. See this if you can. Casey Affleck is amazing and I never thought I'd say this, but Kate Hudson is great, too. Sure, prostitutes in small Texas towns don't look like Jessica Alba but the movie is such a literal adaptation of the Jim Thompson book that it's okay. I was talking to a guy at the theater and he told me that on the first night, three people walked out and one threw up. My kinda movie. Oh, and the soundtrack is killer, too.

Haven't seen it but the original flick from ' 76 w/Stacey Keach and Susan Tyrell wasn't half bad.

I've never seen that one. I was just talking about Susan last night, who is now missing her lower legs.
See this one if you can. There's even an Eddie Noack song in it! And Casey Affleck's Boston accent is thicker than mine, so he's done a great job.

First Jim Thompson I ever read, so it's a must-see! Looks like my kind of summer movie: dark, dank and dangerous!

But will it ever come to Wilmington? We need to make friends with the selection committee at the college.

Yeah, you could definitely throw up. I see "affleck" and I wanna run but he was great - I felt that some of the dialogue helped lose the narrative detail to a degree because it was so buried in nuance and accent and circuitous referencing that would work in the book but needed more directness on the screen. Still it was awesome - the tension of the inevitable.... camera work & soundtrack also excellent. Spade Cooley who beat his wife to death as the key song was juste a la pointe
